Real Madrid predicted starting XI against Elche

Real Madrid are big favourites to defeat Elche, and if they do, they will go level with Barcelona at the top of La Liga. The hosts are yet to win in La Liga this season, but Mourinho will certainly not be taking the match likely, even if it does present an opportunity to rest some of his key players.

In terms of changes, Diario AS expect several to be made. In defence, there are due to be returns for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen and Marc Cucurella, with Denzel Dumfries, Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Carreras dropping out from the victory over Rayo. One more alteration is on the cards, with Arda Guler in line to replace Yan Diomande.

Barring any last-minute surprises, Thibaut Courtois will continue as Real Madrid’s goalkeeper, with Trent, Ibrahima Konate, Huijsen and Cucurella ahead of him. Federico Valverde and Bernardo Silva will be partnered in midfield, with Guler, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior as the three behind Kylian Mbappe in attack.

Real Madrid have more than enough firepower to cause Elche problems, and with the hosts having conceded 13 goals in their opening five La Liga matches, there is the potential for a high-scoring contest – especially in Los Blancos’ favour. Mbappe, Vinicius, Bellingham and co. will fancy their chances of adding to their tallies, although Mourinho will be keen to stress that nothing can be taken for granted at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero.
