Olise is apparently considering leaving Bayern—his preferred destination is set

Michael Olise has long since become one of FC Bayern’s most important players. The Munich club would like to extend the Frenchman’s contract long-term and has no interest whatsoever in selling him. Nevertheless, there is now new speculation about the 24-year-old’s future.

As reported by the British website TEAMtalk, citing sources close to the player, Olise can envision a move to Spain later in his career. While there are reportedly no concrete plans to leave FC Bayern next summer, the Primera División is said to be an attractive prospect for the attacking player in the long term.

According to the report, however, a quick return to England is not on the table. Although Olise played for Crystal Palace for three years before his move to Munich, he is reportedly not drawn back to the Premier League at this time.

Olise was repeatedly linked with Liverpool FC during the last transfer window. However, no concrete transfer took place. Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also recently clarified that the Munich club had not received any offers for the French player this summer.

Should Olise ever decide to leave Bayern Munich, TEAMtalk reports that he might be more inclined to head to Spain. Both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are said to be closely monitoring his development.

It would come as little surprise that the two Spanish powerhouses are interested in a player with Olise’s qualities. Since his move from Crystal Palace to Munich in the summer of 2024, the French international has made tremendous strides in his development.

However, this does not automatically mean he’ll be leaving anytime soon. Olise still has a long-term contract with the German record champions through 2029. There is currently no buyout clause.

Rather, Bayern is pursuing the opposite strategy and wants to keep Olise at the club for even longer. According to club officials, concrete talks about an extension are not currently underway, but the attacking star is generally considered a central part of the club’s long-term plans.

According to TEAMtalk , the recent rumors surrounding potential Bayern signings such as Dani Olmo, Florian Wirtz, or Kai Havertz should not be interpreted as preparation for a sale of Olise or Jamal Musiala. Both continue to play an important role in Munich’s future plans.

Accordingly, a distinction must be made between a general career aspiration and a concretely planned departure from Bayern. TEAMtalk is not currently reporting on any negotiations with Real Madrid or Barcelona, nor is it reporting that Olise intends to force a transfer next summer.

Bayern therefore faces no immediate pressure to act at this time. In the long term, however, Olise’s desire to play in Spain at some point could still become a significant issue for the Munich club.
