Mbappé says he’s favourite for Ballon d’Or: no one was better
But the French Real Madrid forward still secured three top-scorer honors: the World Cup, the Champions League, and the Spanish league.
He also reached the status of the all-time top scorer in World Cups.
Speaking to L’Équipe, he said he sees no one ahead of him when it comes to performance last season.
“There wasn’t any player who had a better season than mine. I believe I have a chance (to win).”
He scored 58 goals in 60 matches for Real Madrid and France.
He won the La Liga scoring title thanks to 25 goals. The UCL one came after 15 goals. And the World Cup one with ten.
He also scored five times in the World Cup qualifiers, once in France’s 2-1 win over Brazil, and added two goals in the Copa del Rey.
Bayern‘s goal machine claimed another European Golden Shoe after scoring 36 times in the latest Bundesliga.
His 25/26 season brought 73 goals in 65 matches for Bayern and England.
An average of 1.12 per game.
Besides being the top scorer in the German league, Kane also scored the most in the DFB-Pokal, Germany’s cup competition, with ten goals. He was only behind Mbappé in the UCL after scoring 14 times, and he netted once in the German Super Cup final.
He also got on the scoresheet six times at the World Cup with the English Team, five times in the qualifiers, and scored once in pre-World Cup friendlies.
And, unlike Mbappé in Spain, Kane won all three possible competitions on German soil.
