Football groundhopping weekend ideas in the Basque Country for the 2026/2027 season!
A quarter of the clubs in the Spanish first division play in and around the Basque Country, a great opportunity to visit several stadiums over the course of a weekend.
LaLiga has published the schedule for the 2026/2027 season. Here is our analysis of the different weekends when several clubs from the region play at home.
Athletic Club and Real Sociedad are the main clubs in the Basque Country. Nearby, you will find Alavés, Osasuna and Racing Santander, who have returned to LaLiga. Eibar in the second division can also be an option. A little further away, Sporting Gijón, Oviedo and Burgos, as well as Valladolid in the second division, are also worth considering.
Due to the large number of clubs in the region, there are almost always at least 2 of these clubs playing at home on the same weekend. We have selected the weekends with 3 or 4 clubs playing at home, as well as weekends when Athletic Club and Real Sociedad can easily be combined, even on the same day depending on the kick-off times.
