🚨 BREAKING: Barcelona sign Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal
Barcelona have completed the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal in a deal worth around €10m (£8.6m), bringing the Brazil international to LaLiga ahead of the transfer deadline.
The 29-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with the Catalan club, after Barcelona reached an agreement with Arsenal over the weekend.
Jesus travelled to Spain to complete his medical before putting pen to paper on his contract, with the transfer completed just before Tuesday’s deadline.
Barcelona had made signing a centre-forward one of their priorities late in the transfer window following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.
The club had initially targeted Atletico Madrid striker Julián Alvarez but were unable to reach an agreement, prompting them to turn their attention to Jesus.
The Brazilian brings extensive Premier League and Champions League experience to Hansi Flick’s squad, having spent four seasons at Arsenal after joining from Manchester City in 2022.
Jesus made 123 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 32 goals and providing 22 assists, but his time in north London was disrupted by a series of injuries.
He suffered a serious knee injury in January 2025 and subsequently made 27 appearances last season, scoring six goals.
