🤩 No children for once! Top-flight club’s special pre-match act
Normally, we’re used to seeing young people walk onto the pitch with the pros before kickoff. Week after week, little dreams come true that way.
But it doesn’t always have to be children and teenagers. That’s exactly what an initiative in Spain, which regularly takes place there, proves. At La Liga club Real Betis, older people are given the honor of walking into the stadium with the stars.
Yesterday, it was that time again. Before the league match at their home ground, the Benito Villamarín, against Getafe CF, which Betis won 1-0, the oldest fans accompanied the players onto the pitch.
Numerous photos and videos of it ended up on ‘X’. There was laughter, little anecdotes were exchanged, and hands were shaken.
The older fans wore green T-shirts with the slogan: “From parents to children. From grandparents to grandchildren.”
That really is a lovely initiative, isn’t it?
