Philippe Coutinho is a Santos FC fan

Santos Futebol Clube has reached an agreement to sign Philippe Coutinho for the remainder of the season. With renowned technical quality and vision on the field, as well as a successful career in Europe and with the Brazilian National Team, the midfielder joins Peixe on a contract valid until the end of 2026.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Philippe Coutinho Correia was born on June 12, 1992. Developed by Vasco da Gama, the player made his professional debut at just 17 years old and quickly drew attention for his talent, skill, and creative ability. In 2010, he moved to Inter Milan in Italy, beginning a long journey in European football.

After a loan spell at Espanyol in Spain, Coutinho joined Liverpool in England in January 2013. At the English club, he experienced one of the most outstanding periods of his career, making 201 appearances and scoring 54 goals. Wearing the Reds shirt, he became the team’s main technical reference and came to be regarded as one of the best players on the planet.

In 2018, he was signed by Barcelona in one of the most expensive transfers in football history. At the Catalan club, he won two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, and one Spanish Super Cup. In the 2019/20 season, he played on loan for Bayern Munich and was part of the historic squad that won the treble: the Bundesliga, the German Cup, and the Champions League.

Coutinho also played for Aston Villa in England and Al-Duhail in Qatar before returning to Vasco in 2024. At the club where he came through the ranks, the midfielder made 125 appearances across his two spells, scoring 22 goals.

For the Brazilian National Team, Philippe Coutinho built an equally impressive career. He has made 68 appearances and scored 21 goals, winning the 2019 Copa América. Before that, he also won the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
