Cast-off Sporting midfielder shines in La Liga, Sevilla win (1-0)
Giorgi Kochorashvili once again caught the eye in Spain. The former Sporting midfielder provided the assist for Juan Iglesias’ goal that secured another win for Sevilla (1-0), in a match in which Valencia once again confirmed their dreadful start to the season.
With this result, Sevilla provisionally climbed to third place in the standings with 10 points, the same as second-placed Alavés, and just two behind leaders Barcelona. Real Madrid and Betis, both on nine, still have matches to play in this round.
Kochorashvili is therefore continuing to gain ground after leaving Sporting. The Georgia international is looking to establish himself in La Liga and added another standout moment by contributing directly to an important result for the Andalusian side.
On the other hand, Valencia are going through a very difficult start to the season. The team has just one point, is still without a win, and sits bottom of the Spanish top flight, having already conceded 10 goals and scored only one.
