LaLiga president Javier Tebas has responded in the strongest terms to recent calls for his resignation from Real Madrid‘s board, denouncing an ongoing campaign of harassment and intimidation aimed at undermining the Spanish league.

Tebas dismissed the repeated calls for his resignation over the past 13 years and defended the independence of his position in the face of attacks from Real Madrid TV. “What they failed to achieve through the European Super League, they are now trying to achieve through a distorted narrative. Real Madrid is trying to destroy the domestic competition,” he asserted, describing the club’s official stance as a clear strategy to intimidate the authorities.

The LaLiga chief also questioned the lack of evidence behind the serious refereeing allegations made by the club’s media outlets regarding the ‘Negreira case’, calling it irresponsible to accuse specific referees without concrete proof. Tebas also linked this sudden escalation in tensions to the rift between Florentino Pérez and FC Barcelona following the latter’s withdrawal from the Super League project, suggesting a shift in rhetoric driven purely by Real Madrid’s political and sporting interests.
