Jos\u00e9 Mourinho delivered a stern message to Ra\u00fal Asencio<\/a>, addressing the defender\u2019s recent drink-driving conviction in his pre-match press conference before Real Madrid\u2019s LaLiga<\/a> meeting with Real Betis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He drew a line between Asencio\u2019s daily professionalism at Valdebebas and his conduct away from the club. The club said on its website that Mourinho underlined that being a Real Madrid<\/a> player applies around the clock and all year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He added that actions off the pitch can harm the image and prestige of a club he described as untouchable. Mourinho said he was not happy, noting that while everyone makes mistakes, repeated ones are different.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The coach confirmed Madrid have opened a disciplinary file on the centre-back, and would not anticipate any outcome until the internal process ends. He also noted Asencio is injured and expected to be out for at least a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The incident occurred in the early hours of 16 August in the south of Gran Canaria, when Asencio was stopped while driving a Porsche Macan GTS. Breath tests returned 0.90 and 0.88 milligrams of alcohol per litre of exhaled air, well above the 0.25 mg\/l limit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He admitted the facts at a fast-track hearing on 19 August, accepted the prosecution\u2019s request and expressed remorse.
