Former Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski<\/a> has admitted that Real Madrid<\/a> look stronger with Jose Mourinho in charge, although the Polish forward was quick to make it clear where his loyalty remains.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Lewandowski, who left Barcelona this summer to continue his career in Major League Soccer, spoke to AS<\/a> about several subjects and was asked about Madrid\u2019s prospects following an eventful summer at the Santiago Bernab\u00e9u, and his assessment was positive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Real Madrid have added several high-profile players during the transfer window, but Lewandowski believes Mourinho\u2019s arrival could be just as important as the new signings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cReal Madrid are now stronger with the new signings and with Jos\u00e9 (Mourinho).\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Real Madrid\u2019s summer has been about more than recruitment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The club has brought in several established players, strengthening a squad that had gone two consecutive seasons without winning La Liga<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Lewandowski has spoken positively about Real Madrid<\/a>. (Photo by David Ramos\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The former Bar\u00e7a<\/em> forward remains firmly behind his old club, stating, \u201cI\u2019m always on Barcelona\u2019s side,\u201d<\/strong> he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Barcelona have won the league in each of the last two seasons, while Madrid have gone through three different managers during that period before Florentino Perez turned to Mourinho.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The appointment is therefore intended to bring stability and a stronger competitive mentality to a side that knows it cannot afford another domestic campaign without silverware.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n So far, both Real Madrid<\/a> and Barcelona have won their opening three La Liga<\/a> matches, leaving the clubs level at the top of the early standings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Of course, three matches are nowhere near enough to determine where the title will end up. But the early results reinforce the expectation that this year\u2019s championship race could be considerably tighter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
