Spanish football has increasingly focused on one topic since last weekend, with the Madrid derby causing considerable uproar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Real Madrid lost 2-1 to Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano, but it was the refereeing decisions that took the limelight from the game.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a recent interview with RNE<\/a><\/em>, Barcelona star Dani Olmo<\/a> was asked about the growing refereeing debate, and he delivered a very pointed response.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Olmo puts the focus on football<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n

Asked whether the controversy had started surprisingly early, with only seven rounds of La Liga<\/a> played, Olmo made it clear that the situation itself did not surprise him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t surprise me. It can happen or it might not happen,\u201d<\/strong> Olmo said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He suggested that Barcelona have chosen a very different approach.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe haven\u2019t made much noise. We are winning, and that is the only thing that matters to us. We speak on the pitch,\u201d<\/strong> the Barcelona midfielder said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bar\u00e7a have played near-perfect football<\/a> so far, and Olmo\u2019s confidence is reflected in his words about his team.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Olmo was also careful not to tell Barcelona\u2019s rivals how they should behave, instead stressing what his own team intends to do.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cOthers are free to do what they want. As for us, we dedicate ourselves to playing and winning,\u201d <\/strong>he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Refereeing arguments can quickly dominate the conversation around a title race, particularly when the two biggest clubs in Spain are involved.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bar\u00e7a gain very little from being dragged into a war of words, especially this early in the new league campaign.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ultimately, the Catalan club have won La Liga<\/em> twice in a row, and the onus is on the other teams to stop them from doing it for a third time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Barcelona have made a perfect start in La Liga<\/em> and currently hold a six-point advantage over Real Madrid. The advantage is theirs to lose.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Olmo and his team-mates will now be on international duty before returning to Barcelona, where they hope to continue the form they have shown at the start of the season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
