FC Barcelona<\/a> held a light training session on Friday, with the first-team players who remain at the club during the international break completing gym work before taking an extended break. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The squad will return during the final week of the international break to prepare for the La Liga<\/a> match against Getafe on 10 October at 18:30 at Spotify Camp Nou.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Wojciech Szczesny, Gerard Martin, Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Gabriel Jesus and Brian Farinas<\/a> are the six first-team players without international commitments who have remained with Hansi Flick during these days.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Eight games into the new season, Farinas is the only available member of the first-team squad who has yet to make an official appearance. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And, according to SPORT<\/a>, the 20-year-old midfield prospect is pushing himself hard in training in order to convince Flick and earn his official senior debut.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Farinas was close to leaving Barcelona in the summer for Girona, until Flick decided to intervene and stop the departure following Frenkie de Jong\u2019s injury at the World Cup.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The La Masia<\/em> starlet impressed in pre-season and was even given a first-team squad number and registration by the club. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

What it also means is that he can no longer drop back to the reserve side, meaning that stage of his development has now passed. As such, He is working to convince Flick and fulfil his dream of making his official Bar\u00e7a debut.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Farinas watched the opening matches from the bench before Gabriel Jesus\u2019 signing was completed. Once the group reached 24 players, it was the academy midfielder who was generally the player left out of matchday squads. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The exception was the UEFA Champions League match against Feyenoord, when he was included in the squad because Eric Garcia was suspended.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Farinas knows that his opportunity will eventually come, but he also understands that competition for places is intense. His route is therefore to give everything in training and continue standing out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Farinas already convinced Flick during pre-season<\/a> and earned his place in the first-team squad. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Injuries have so far been relatively kind to Bar\u00e7a, while the team has made an excellent start to the campaign, making it difficult to find opportunities, particularly in midfield<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The situation could change after the international break. The fixture list will become much more demanding, with Bar\u00e7a facing practically two matches a week and 15 games in total before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That schedule should create opportunities for squad rotation. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

For Farinas, the task is therefore clear: continue working, take advantage of every opportunity in training and wait for the moment when Flick decides that he is ready to make his official debut.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
