Liverpool have a lot of players among their ranks. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Some have been sent out on loan, some are on the fringes of the first-team and some are regular starters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n No matter what role they have at Anfield, they’re all important in one way or another and each of them serve a purpose.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n For example, last season, Lewis Koumas was out on loan in the Championship<\/strong><\/a> and now, he’s starting games for Liverpool and being used as Alexander Isak’s deputy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Thanks to his work ethic, he’s managed to catch the eye of Iraola but, for some Liverpool players, that hasn’t been the case.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n One of the main transfer saga’s from Liverpool’s summer window was Harvey Elliott<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Englishman had a rather disappointing loan spell with Aston Villa last term and, even though the Villans won the Europa League and Elliott scored their first goal of the season, he only featured in nine games for Unai Emery’s men.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n That’s mainly because, after he’d played 10 games for Villa, they would’ve had to buy him for \u00a335 million which they thought was a tad too much.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n This resulted in him returning to Liverpool and hoping to have a chance to prove his worth to Iraola<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n However, that didn’t end up being the case as he ended up being sent out on loan to La Liga<\/a> outfit, Valencia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Since his switch, he’s made a few cameos but now, thanks to an update<\/a> from Marca, it now feels like he only has three weeks to prove his worth and potentially save his career.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n ” , judging by the few minutes he’s played since arriving at Valencia on loan from Liverpool , is a case of ‘wanting to but not being able to’,” they wrote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “His physical condition needs to be optimal to fully develop his abilities, and so far that hasn’t been the case because the British player arrived out of shape.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “This was somewhat understandable, given that he wasn’t in the Reds’ plans and they were looking to offload him. He had an atypical preseason.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “The footballer needs a radical change of scenery, and La Liga and Valencia seemed like a good way to unwind. But for now, he’s paying the price for not being in shape, and now he must give it his all to reach peak form in these three weeks and contribute to the team.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n When Jurgen Klopp<\/a> was the manager of Liverpool, Elliott was often one of the first names on his team sheet<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Englishman was the German’s star-boy and, no matter where he used him in his starting XI, he always managed to meet expectations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n However, after he exited Anfield, things just didn’t go to plan for Elliott with Slot leaving him out of his plans on numerous occasions during the 2024-25 season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n From that point on, it was clear that, while Slot was at the helm, Elliott wasn’t going to be an option.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n This led to him joining Villa and now Valencia on loan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Each of these moves were supposed to allow him to flourish, especially after his performances at the Under-21s Euro’s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n However, nothing like that happened and, if Elliott doesn’t use these three weeks to get fit and to get back to his best, some serious questions will need to be asked about what lies ahead for his future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
