Barcelona<\/a> have enjoyed a sensational start to the new campaign, sitting top of LaLiga<\/a> with a perfect record.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hansi Flick\u2019s side have collected 21 points from a possible 21, scoring 31 goals along the way, and hold a six-point lead over Real Madrid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That form has caught the eye of Real Madrid legend Luis Figo<\/a>, who was full of praise for the Catalans in a recent interview.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Figo lauds Barcelona<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio MARCA (h\/t Mundo Deportivo<\/a><\/em>), Figo, a UEFA adviser but a man with strong Real Madrid ties, acknowledged just how impressive Barcelona have been.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThey have started very strong. They\u2019re winning, they\u2019re playing very well, they\u2019re scoring goals,\u201d<\/strong> he said about Barcelona.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

However, the Portuguese was quick to stress that the season remains long. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cYou have to see how the season goes, which is very long,\u201d<\/strong> he noted, before applauding the overall standard in Spain. \u201cFor Spanish football, logically, it is good.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Figo, who has not lost faith in Real Madrid, was convinced Los Blancos would fight until the very end despite their six-point deficit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cSurely Madrid will compete until the end. This is a competition that has to be regular until May. There will be highs and lows during the season. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cWhen there are lows you have to have the maturity and also the quality to overcome them and move on,\u201d<\/strong> he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On the Ballon d\u2019Or, whose voting closes on Monday, the former winger was diplomatic and did not endorse anyone, though he did mention Kylian Mbappe. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWho has the power to decide is the one who votes. You have to wait to see what happens. I don\u2019t vote, so I don\u2019t have that problem in my head,\u201d<\/strong> he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Finally, Figo reserved praise for Kylian Mbappe. \u201cHe is always at a very high level. He\u2019s one of the best in the world, to score goals,\u201d<\/strong> he concluded.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Despite Figo\u2019s praise, Lamine Yamal leads the trends so far, with Barcelona teammate Rodri and Bayern Munich star Harry Kane also in the running. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Barcelona, for their part, have firmly backed Yamal\u2019s bid<\/a> but it will be interesting to see the final outcome. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
