Real Madrid<\/a> have endured a mixed start to the season, winning five of their seven La Liga<\/a><\/em> games so far and sitting six points behind league leaders Barcelona.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Catalan club, by contrast, have looked unstoppable, enjoying a perfect start to the new season and looking on course for a third straight league title.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to El Chiringuito<\/em> journalist Jose Alvarez<\/a>, Bar\u00e7a<\/em>\u2019s players are enjoying Madrid\u2019s current situation and are already particularly motivated by the prospect of the first Clasico<\/em> of the season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

From a Real Madrid perspective, those comments should sting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Their closest league rivals have not given them a chance in the past couple of seasons and have only seemed to grow stronger.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Meanwhile, Madrid look like a team who are still figuring out combinations and are not yet settled under Jose Mourinho.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

There is also plenty of noise surrounding Madrid beyond the results.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Vinicius Junior\u2019s form is under scrutiny, Mourinho is still searching for greater creativity and control in midfield<\/a>, and the usual Mbappe-Vinicius problem is also cropping up.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Madrid were also furious about the refereeing against Atletico, and their complaints over key decisions are part of the story.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

However, Mourinho will know that fixing the footballing issues is ultimately more important than winning the argument about what happened at the Metropolitano.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It gives Mourinho the option to take a step back, recalibrate and see what issues can be addressed after the break.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Six points at this stage of the season can disappear quickly, but the psychological dynamic is currently obvious.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
