As we approach the first international break of the season, it is perhaps fair to point out that Barcelona<\/a> have been a class above every other team in LaLiga<\/a> so far.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Catalans have already gained a six-point lead over Real Madrid, who have been crying foul<\/a> after their 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Madrid derby.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a recent interaction, Barcelona legend Carles Rexach offered his thoughts on Barcelona\u2019s start to the season while also touching on the refereeing controversy surrounding Real Madrid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Speaking to 2Cat, Rexach addressed the arbitration issue that flared up after the Madrid derby, arguing that Real Madrid have historically been the biggest beneficiaries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThroughout history, the most benefited team, not only in Spain but in Europe, has been Real Madrid. By the time I played, we always came out scalded,\u201d<\/strong> he said (h\/t Mundo Deportivo<\/em><\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He also expressed disappointment that VAR had not levelled the playing field as he had hoped. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI thought that with the tale of the VAR, of which in principle it was very infant, because they can not score a goal that the ball does not enter and give you a goal, and this before could not be canceled. I thought this advantage of VAR would be more effective.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cBut if before there was the problem with which I arbitrated and the lines, now there are the same and besides those of the VAR, and we have not advanced much; we are in the same situation as before,\u201d<\/strong> he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

High praise for Barcelona\u2019s start<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n

Rexach was glowing in his assessment of Barcelona\u2019s blistering start, insisting only PSG can currently live with Hansi Flick\u2019s side.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt is not for being optimistic, because the thing works and works well, but looking coldly and without passion, Bar\u00e7a currently goes at another speed to the rest of the Spanish teams. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Rexach also pointed out how the young nature of Barcelona\u2019s team has given added confidence to the team.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThese guys are all convinced of their chances. When you get to a veteran, you still have some fear of failing, but when you\u2019re young, everything goes well. Bar\u00e7a are doing very well,\u201d<\/strong> he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

However, the legend did offer a note of caution regarding the upcoming Clasico<\/em>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
