This comes amid the understanding that Javier Aguirre is all set to link up with Los Che.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The brass at Mestalla have of course spent the last week searching the market for a new manager. After making the call to part ways with Carlos Corber\u00e1n following a dismal opening to the campaign, new sporting director Braulio V\u00e1zquez set his sights firmly on the services of Ernesto Valverde.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The former Barcelona and Athletic Club boss, however, ultimately <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DepCOPEValencia\/status\/2099551896671228103\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer\">made the call<\/a> to knock back Valencia\u2019s advances.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>A shortlist of alternative targets was in turn drawn up, with the name of the aforementioned Javier Aguirre featuring front and centre.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>And if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then an agreement between club and manager now appears all but imminent.
