Sevilla manager Luis Garcia Plaza knows his side faces an enormous challenge when Barcelona arrive this weekend<\/a>, but he is refusing to treat the La Liga<\/a> leaders as unbeatable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Barcelona\u2019s attacking numbers<\/a> have made them one of the most difficult teams to contain in the division, yet Sevilla head into the meeting in good form.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Garcia Plaza believes that gives his players enough reason to approach the fixture with confidence rather than simply trying to limit the damage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Sevilla coach acknowledged the difficulty of the task while stressing that football can still produce an unexpected result.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s always a chance of winning or picking up points\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Garcia Plaza has already experienced what Barcelona can do at their peak.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

His reference to Pep Guardiola\u2019s famous side was used to explain just how difficult the current team is to face, rather than suggest the challenge has become any easier.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve faced Guardiola\u2019s Bar\u00e7a before and you couldn\u2019t even see the ball. But this team is incredible.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Sevilla manager then focused on the sheer volume of opportunities Barcelona are creating, while acknowledging that his own side have arrived in better shape than they were earlier in the campaign.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThey create so many chances to score. As Fabregas said, they\u2019re terrifying. I\u2019m not the one saying it.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cOn paper, they\u2019re the favourites, but we\u2019re in good form. It\u2019s true that they\u2019re scoring four or five goals a game.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That attacking output presents a clear problem for Sevilla. Garcia Plaza wants his players to prevent Barcelona from turning their possession into the number of chances they have been producing against other opponents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cSo far we\u2019ve been very good, apart from the day we played Atletico. What we want is for them to create few chances against us, but it\u2019s true that we\u2019re up against an opponent who creates a lot, a lot.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Garcia Plaza wants Sevilla to play their own game<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n

Rather than changing everything to accommodate Barcelona, Garcia Plaza intends to rely on the qualities that have helped Sevilla build their current run of form.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to try to compete against them just as we would against anyone else.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI\u2019d also say that if they come here and we\u2019re not able to compete with them, we\u2019ll have to ask ourselves about the standard of the team we\u2019re up against,\u201d<\/strong> he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The manager also recognises the tactical demands created by Hansi Flick\u2019s team. Barcelona\u2019s pressure, movement and ability to generate chances force opponents to perform with very little room for error.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Garcia Plaza has seen that challenge first-hand and knows Sevilla will need an exceptional performance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThey certainly are, but I\u2019m sure they\u2019d pose a challenge to everyone they\u2019ve swept aside. We\u2019re going to give it a go using our own strengths and creating our own chances.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cGuardiola\u2019s Barcelona scored six against me, but I also beat them. We\u2019ll have to be at our very best if we\u2019re to stand a chance,\u201d<\/strong> he concluded.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
