The Barcelona<\/a> forward has already scored six times across the opening five league matches, including three braces, and his latest double against Levante has put him alongside Lionel Messi<\/a> in a remarkable 21st-century record.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As such, no player other than Messi and Yamal has managed three braces across the first five rounds of LaLiga during this century.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Messi achieved the feat in the 2012\u201313 campaign, and now Barcelona\u2019s current No. 10 has matched him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

His latest two-goal display against Levante has extended an already remarkable scoring run.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Before that game, Yamal had scored twice against Rayo Vallecano, twice against Valencia and once against Feyenoord in the Champions League.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That means the teenager has now scored in four successive official matches. Racing Santander are next<\/a>, with Barcelona facing them on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hence, one more goal would take Yamal into a territory he has never reached before in his career: five consecutive competitive appearances with a goal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sure, it is another individual milestone, but there is little sense that Yamal is chasing records for their own sake.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

His recent performances have made scoring feel like a natural extension of the influence he already has on Barcelona\u2019s attack.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Yamal has already equalled a record associated with one of Barcelona\u2019s greatest-ever players, and now he has the chance to establish a personal best of his own.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

At 19, the Barcelona forward is entering another season in which expectations around him have grown considerably. Yet his response has been to keep producing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The sequence against Rayo, Valencia, Feyenoord and Levante has also shown different sides of his attacking game.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Notably, he has not simply relied on one type of finish or one type of opportunity; he has repeatedly found ways to influence the scoreboard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
