Real Madrid<\/a> spared their blushes on Tuesday, as they came away for their La Liga clash against Elche with a 3-2 victory<\/a>. They had been 2-0 up thanks to goals from Matias Dituro (OG) and Kylian Mbappe<\/a>, but after the hosts brought it back to 2-2, Los Blancos needed a stoppage time winner from Carlos Espi<\/a> to claim the three points.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After the match, head coach Jose Mourinho spoke to the media at the Estadio Manuel Mart\u00ednez Valero. As per Diario AS<\/a>, he delivered his assessment of the 90 minutes that took place between his Real Madrid side and Elche.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThree points and nothing more. It\u2019s just Hala Madrid and nothing else. Obviously after the first half, we all had the feeling that we could score three, four or five in the second. But we lowered the intensity, we gave too much space and when Bellingham and Brahim came on, I tried to give consistency to the midfield, because Vinicius and G\u00fcler were tired. But when I was thinking about stability, they made it 1-2 and, in these full stadiums, the teams that seem dead\u2026 in one click they are alive. Then comes the 2-2. But we have a bench full of talent and different talents. I took a risk to the maximum\u2026 But a draw is useless. And we scored the goal with a very strong reaction. Mourinho spoke further on Real Madrid\u2019s second half collapse, admitting that he is concerned about it having happened in three consecutive matches. However, he was just as happy to see his side come away with the win.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt seems obvious to me. It\u2019s easy to understand. They are finished games in which we have chances to kill, and we don\u2019t kill. After not killing, we go from ease to not controlling. We haven\u2019t scored. When everything seems easy, you leave things undone. The explanation I find is that if the game seems easy and you don\u2019t finish it off, then you go down, you lose control, you misinterpret the ease. It can happen. Mourinho also took the opportunity to praise the efforts of several of his players, starting with matchwinner Espi.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s doing well, he\u2019s contributing to the team. He has a player ahead of him (Mbappe) who is not normal. Playing with the two together is not easy. If not, we don\u2019t have players on the wings to be fast and the team loses balance. With the changes in the end, I risked everything. Mourinho was also pleased with the performance of Yan Diomande<\/a>, who got his first assist in Real Madrid colours for Mbappe\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
