We were below the required level; I’d say it was the worst first half we\u2019ve had since I became Valencia<\/a> CF coach. I’ve never seen the team compete like that. It’s a question of activation, of how we came onto the pitch. We came out with the opposite attitude than that needed to be a competitive team. The first 15 minutes were the team’s worst since I’ve been in charge. That start to the match completely doomed us. It wasn’t a performance we can accept.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n This isn’t a question of a solution being found in the transfer market, but of responsibility. The team performed below our usual standard. Our initial activation was below Deportivo’s level. We were out played in many areas of the pitch. I’m not shirking responsibility; I’m the one who picks the lineup. More than just looking to the transfer market, we need to compete better. We leave here incredibly disappointed. We feel ashamed as a team. We weren\u2019t at the standard of what we represent. It’s a matter of properly assessing the situation. We didn’t start at the level we should be playing at. Everything became more difficult from there. We need to start with more strength, clarity, and conviction. I myself need to develop a better approach. Whatever it takes, everyone has to improve in whatever way they can to get off to a better start.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI’ve already said that, in my opinion, the first few minutes were below what is required in the Primera Divisi\u00f3n<\/a>.
