FC Barcelona<\/a> have made a spectacular start to the 2026\/27 season, winning six in six across all competitions so far and at the heart of this blistering form has been captain and key forward Raphinha<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 29-year-old Brazilian international, deployed as a centre-forward by Hansi Flick this term, has been in red-hot form, having scored in each of the team\u2019s first five games.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While he failed to score against Levante on Sunday, the attacker\u2019s influence was telling once again as he registered two assists in the Catalans\u2019 4-2 win.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Leading the charts<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n

As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo<\/a><\/em>, Raphinha now tops the charts for most direct goal contributions in the top five leagues of Europe for the 2026\/27 season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

After five league matches, the 29-year-old star has six goals and three assists, meaning he has been directly involved in nine of Barcelona\u2019s 21 goals in La Liga<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That figure becomes even more impressive when compared with the leading scorers across Europe\u2019s major leagues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the Premier League, Erling Haaland has four goals for Manchester City but no assists. Serie A\u2019s leading scorer, Donyell Malen of Roma, has five goals without a single assist.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In Ligue 1, Amine Gouiri of Marseille has four goals and no assists, while Kamory Doumbia of Brest has four goals and one assist. Paris FC\u2019s Lassine Sinayoko has also scored four times without providing an assist.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the Bundesliga, Igor Matanovi\u0107 of Freiburg and Patrik Schick of Bayer Leverkusen have three goals and one assist each.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

None can match Raphinha\u2019s combination of goals and assists at this stage of the season. His numbers are even more impressive when the Champions League is included. He has eight goals and three assists across all competitions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A special record slips away<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n

Raphinha missed out on achieving a remarkable Barcelona record<\/a>, after failing to score Levante last evening.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Only Cesar Rodriguez in 1950\/51 and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2009\/10 managed to score in each of Barcelona\u2019s first five La Liga matches. The current first captain had the chance to join them but failed to find the net at the Ciutat de Valencia<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

However, he still had a major impact on the result by providing two assists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The first arrived after just five minutes, when Raphinha set up Xavi Espart to open the scoring. Just 14 minutes later, he was involved again, finding Lamine Yamal, who made it 2-0.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

More than just goals and assists<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n

Raphinha\u2019s contribution went well beyond his final passes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Brazilian created three chances, more than any other Barcelona player. He also completed three dribbles, a figure matched only by Lamine among the visitors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He finished with two attempts on goal, one of them on target, but his attacking importance is better reflected by everything he created around the penalty area than by his own shots.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That has become one of the defining features of his season. His influence is no longer limited to finishing chances. The Brazilian is creating them, pressing, dribbling and bringing others into the game.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
