Elche may be the underdogs when Real Madrid<\/a> arrive at the Martinez Valero on Tuesday, but Javi Morcillo has made it clear that the hosts have no intention of simply making up the numbers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Elche midfielder believes his side has already shown enough progress this season to approach the meeting with confidence, despite collecting only two points from their opening five La Liga<\/a> matches.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Real Madrid, meanwhile, have taken 12 points from their first five league games under Jose Mourinho and sit three points behind Barcelona.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A third successive victory in all competitions would put further pressure on the leaders, who face Racing on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That form makes the challenge facing Elche particularly demanding, but Morcillo insists the occasion is one his teammates are relishing rather than fearing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re really looking forward to the match. When a team like Madrid comes to our ground, it\u2019s always special,\u201d<\/strong> the midfielder said, as per Mundo Deportivo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Elche will have only three days to recover from their demanding trip to Athletic, where they secured their second point of the campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Morcillo believes that result offered further evidence that the team is beginning to find its feet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The summer arrival from Atletico de Madrid described the draw in Bilbao positively, arguing that Elche are starting to see the rewards of their work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Morcillo\u2019s comments point to a squad that believes the results have not yet fully reflected its performances.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
