As per MD<\/a>, he was very happy with the first half performance, while also expressing satisfaction with how his side performed after half time \u2013 despite there being a significant drop off.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWe played a very strong first half, from a team that didn\u2019t want to waste time and came on to settle the game. The second half has been more managed, with a lower pace. M\u00e1laga had more time and more calmness to have the ball but every time we accelerated we created danger. The feeling was that we could score more goals.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cAs a team our objective was to keep a clean sheet, to work well defensively. It is not always possible to attack with a lot of intensity, the opponent sometimes comes out and you have to know how to be compact, balance, defend well, and we have done it well. They are three important points.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Mourinho made five changes to his side from the midweek win against Real Sociedad, and he revealed that these were planned for several days. He also doubled down on his assessment of the second half performance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI told the players before the game against Real Sociedad that I was going to make a lot of changes. I didn\u2019t want to blur the team but I wanted to bring in people who have a lot of quality, as much quality as the others. As a coach they are options that I have, it is not a question of quality because all my players have a lot of quality.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI understand that people enjoyed the first half, but they also have to enjoy the second half because we saw a committed team, who worked defensively, we saw Vinicius chasing his opponent when he lost the ball.
