Barcelona<\/a> have received a major boost in their financial position after La Liga<\/a> revealed the latest spending limits for Spain\u2019s professional clubs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Blaugrana\u2019s<\/em> wage bill has risen from \u20ac432 million following last season\u2019s winter transfer window to a current figure of \u20ac582.769 million<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The increase shows the club\u2019s improving revenues and efforts to bring their structural costs back in line with its financial capacity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tebas points to Barcelona\u2019s revenue and debt capacity<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n

Recently, La Liga president Javier Tebas and chief corporate officer Javier Gomez addressed Barcelona\u2019s situation while explaining how the club has managed to increase its spending limit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tebas stressed that Barcelona\u2019s debt should not be considered without also looking at the club\u2019s ability to generate revenue and meet its financial obligations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI often read that Barcelona has, I don\u2019t know, how many million in debt, but what\u2019s also important is the revenue and your ability to repay that debt.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cYou have to look at the situation carefully,\u201d<\/strong> said Tebas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He added, \u201cBarcelona has a billion in revenue. It has the ability to repay its debts and to improve its financial position.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Simply put, the club\u2019s financial picture is not defined solely by their outstanding debt, with revenue generation playing a major role in determining its capacity under the league\u2019s financial controls.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Meanwhile. Gomez offered more detail on why Barcelona\u2019s limit has increased, pointing to both improved revenue and a better alignment between the club\u2019s structural expenses and its means.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The La Liga executive explained that Barcelona \u201cwas coming out of a difficult situation; the limit has risen because it has more revenue and its structural costs are now more in line with its means.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt has been recouping some losses, and that has raised its limit. It has been penalised for years and has been recouping those losses.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cAbove all, it is increasing its revenue and transfer fees for players, and that is what is raising its limit.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Barcelona\u2019s progress is therefore not just the result of one financial measure. Increased income, recovering losses and transfer-related revenue have all contributed to the improvement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lastly, Gomez also confirmed that Barcelona are complying with La Liga\u2019s 1:1 rule when making signings, an important development given the restrictions that have shaped the club\u2019s transfer activity in recent years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He does not expect Barcelona\u2019s return to their renovated home next year to have a significant immediate effect on the club\u2019s finances either.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cTicket sales figures at Montju\u00efc are very good, and there are other areas where revenue is generated, or costs that have not yet been incurred.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
