Barcelona<\/a> have started the season in sensational fashion, securing five straight wins from five games across La Liga<\/a> and the Champions League.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Catalan club have been scoring goals for fun, scoring five in four of their five games so far and only being stopped by an outstanding Unai Simon in the other.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One player who has looked unstoppable<\/a> in a new role at the start of the season is Raphinha<\/a>, who has been playing as a striker.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, the Brazilian superstar is ready to begin discussions with Barcelona over a new contract.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The interest is said to be mutual, with both the player and the club seemingly interested in extending their relationship.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Barcelona are said to be happy with the 29-year-old\u2019s performances and attitude, and he has also been promoted to first captain of the team.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The relationship between the two sides is described as excellent, with negotiations expected to enter an important stage in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Once a player whose long-term future was regularly discussed whenever Barcelona needed to generate transfer income, the Brazilian has developed into one of the most influential figures in Hansi Flick\u2019s attack.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

His value is not limited to goals and assists either.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Raphinha\u2019s intensity without the ball, willingness to press and ability to attack different spaces have made him particularly valuable within the German coach\u2019s system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Flick has repeatedly wanted to use him in different attacking roles and seems to have found the best possible one for him as a striker.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A renewal on a contract that currently runs until 2028 would undoubtedly be well deserved and provide important security for the club.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Back during the summer, before the World Cup, there was a lot of chatter about Raphinha\u2019s potential future at Bar\u00e7a.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Brazilian had endured an injury-riddled campaign last time around and suffered yet another hamstring injury with the national team at the World Cup.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

However, that proved to be a blessing in disguise, as the Barcelona captain got enough time to recover and reach full fitness ahead of the new club season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Barcelona\u2019s attack contains younger players with enormous long-term potential, but that does not diminish Raphinha\u2019s importance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He understands exactly what the coach wants and consistently provides the energy needed to make Barcelona\u2019s aggressive football work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

His story at the club looks set to continue in the form of a new contract, and it remains to be seen how the negotiations play out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
