Bojan Miovski’s cute dink in stoppage time sealed a dramatic 1-0 victory for Rangers over St Mirren and extended their winning run to four games in the Scottish Premiership. <\/p>\n

The substitute raced onto Ryan Naderi’s flick-on from Ivor Pandur’s long ball before lifting a delightful lob over the goalkeeper to send Ibrox wild after a drab 90 minutes.<\/p>\n

It looked for all the world that Derek McInnes’ side were set to be frustrated after struggling to break down a resolute St Mirren side who packed a punch of their own.<\/p>\n

St Mirren could easily have taken all three points, having created the clearest chance of the game when Fraser Taylor was sent through one-on-one with Pandur.<\/p>\n

In a miss that would prove costly, the forward had time to pick his spot, but his effort was too close to the Rangers goalkeeper, who made a comfortable save.<\/p>\n

The victory moves Rangers above St Mirren and into second in the Scottish Premiership, with the visitors suffering a second consecutive league defeat after their 2-1 loss to Celtic last time out.<\/p>\n

Rangers had to cope without captain and striker Lawrence Shankland, who missed out through injury, with Ryan Naderi starting in his place.<\/p>\n

But it was another substitute who provided the decisive moment as Miovski produced a composed finish to ensure Rangers’ momentum under McInnes continues.<\/p>\n

Rangers turn their attention to a huge double-header against Celtic, with the sides first meeting in the League Cup quarter-finals before renewing hostilities in the Scottish Premiership at Parkhead.<\/p>\n

22: CHAPMAN DOUBLE SAVE! <\/strong>The St Mirren stopper is in inspired form. He first gets down to a Gassama strike from the edge of the area. Bouanani rushes in to gobble up the rebound but that’s saved too!<\/p>\n

66: BIG MISS! <\/strong>How has Taylor missed!???? Pandur comes up on top in a one-on-one as Fraser spurns the chance of the game.<\/p>\n

90+1: GOAL! <\/strong>Naderi flicks on a long ball into Miovski’s path, who’s then one-on-one with Chapman. The St Mirren ‘keeper rushes out and is beaten with a cute dink.<\/p>\n

“I’m very relieved. The way we moved the ball, the aggression and the chances we created, we should have done so much better. For an hour I was really pleased with the performance. Then for 20 to 25 minutes we were guilty of so many bad decisions, but we found a way to win.<\/p>\n

“I couldn’t be more pleased with my players for their perseverance and sheer will to keep going. When you get a late winner, it illustrates the strength, fitness and character of the team.<\/p>\n

“Four wins out of four; I think it’s six out of seven. We’re making good steps but we’d like to be able to win a bit more comfortably and at more ease.<\/p>\n

“As long as we’re winning, it’s a step towards hopefully getting more complete performances.”<\/p>\n

On Bojan Miovski<\/strong>: <\/em>“I’m delighted for him. He just keeps going, trains with motivation, does the right things and had a lovely, calm finish when we needed calmness and quality.”<\/p>\n

“I was delighted with how we played tonight; we asked them to be brave and they stuck to what we’ve been doing. Chapman had to make some great saves; we defended well but could have carried a bit more threat.<\/p>\n

“It felt like we deserved at least a point but you don’t always get what you deserve. There are no excuses about four games in 12 days; we played like monsters tonight.<\/p>\n

“We’ve had some moments like those that have gone our way. These things even themselves out and Fraser Taylor was fantastic tonight. I’m just so proud of the group and we have to keep going.<\/p>\n

“I don’t want this to come across the wrong way but our season can’t be defined by picking up a point away at Ibrox. If we play like we did tonight, then we should keep picking up more points throughout the season.”<\/p>\n
