Barcelona<\/a> star Rodri<\/a> finds himself at the heart of something of a media storm in Catalunya\u2019s capital early this week. This comes owing to a round of footage centring on the midfielder captured this past weekend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Rodri was for his part afforded his starting debut in Barcelona colours on Sunday, in a La Liga<\/a> meeting with Valencia<\/a>. And en route to an eventual 5-0 Blaugrana romp, the 30-year-old controlled the midfield battle with poise and characteristic excellence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Just beyond the hour mark, with the three points already in the bag, Rodri, in turn, was hauled off by manager Hansi Flick.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n And it was an ensuing exchange between the former Manchester City<\/a> man and young teammate Pau Cubars\u00ed<\/a> which has since sparked something of a backlash against Rodri.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n After the latter took his place on the visitors\u2019 bench at Mestalla, he was captured by Movistar\u2019s cameras taking aim at Valencia\u2019s players in harsh fashion:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Rodri \u201cThey\u2019re so weak, man, so weak. Wow, these guys are terrible. How did Valencia do last season?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Cubars\u00ed: \u201cI think they were close to Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Rodri: \u201cWow\u2026 they\u2019re so bad. In the 2nd half, they haven\u2019t even passed the midfield line.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
