With the transfer window closing at midnight next Tuesday, and with his dream of joining FC Barcelona<\/a> next season now seemingly impossible, Julian Alvarez is once again turning his attention towards Atletico Madrid, reports MARCA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As he did on Friday afternoon, the Argentine trained on his own at El Cerro on Saturday morning with one of the club\u2019s fitness coaches, while his teammates travelled to Seville for their match La Liga<\/a> at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The session represents a tentative return to normality for Alvarez after the indisposition that kept him out of training for three consecutive days. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

With Atletico Madrid making it clear that a move to Barcelona<\/a> is not an option, the 26-year-old striker is seemingly starting to accept the reality of his situation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It does not completely resolve the uncertainty surrounding his future, but it does suggest that, for now, the Premier League<\/a> is not an option that appeals to Alvarez, despite Arsenal and Manchester City being prepared to open the door for him<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After two days following an individual programme, Alvarez is expected to rejoin Diego Simeone\u2019s group at the next training session, scheduled for Sunday. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That would leave only two days before the transfer window closes and bring the long-running saga closer to its conclusion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If he remains at Atletico, the club do not want to waste any more time before starting the process of bringing their star forward back into the fold.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Staying at Atletico, for now<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n

For the moment, Alvarez\u2019s continuation at Atletico Madrid appears the most likely outcome. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Indeed, the striker would be expected to remain in Madrid unless he changes his position that Barcelona<\/a> is the only club he wants to join and his refusal to return to the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That stance remains unchanged<\/a> despite Arsenal and Manchester City being prepared to offer him a route back to England.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Nobody, however, can be certain what will happen over the next few days. As things stand, Alvarez remains an Atletico Madrid player and is expected to train alongside his teammates again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As for Barcelona<\/a>, despite having tracked alternatives, it appears that Deco and Hansi Flick have decided that it will be Alvarez or no one to reinforce the striker position this summer. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, unless something drastic happens in the coming days, the Blaugrana<\/em> will not sign a new No. 9 and reassess the situation in January.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
