Real Madrid are set to complete the signing of teenage midfielder Sergio Martinez from Racing Santander imminently, confirms Fabrizio Romano.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The Italian transfer expert claims that the 19-year-old starlet will join Los Blancos<\/em> immediately, signing a four-year contract with the club and will not be loaned back to Racing or to a different club this season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Real Madrid have been monitoring Martinez since last season when he made his breakthrough at Racing Santander.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Having turned down the possibility of leaving the Cantabrian club in January, the teenager helped them earn promotion back to La Liga<\/a>, and has made immediate impact in the top flight, scoring on his debut vs Villarreal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n This led to Real Madrid<\/a> accelerating their efforts to sign Martinez, with an agreement now in place between the two clubs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n While the youngster had a \u20ac3 million release clause in his contract, Real Madrid<\/a> have opted not to activate it and instead negotiated directly with the club, for the same amount.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n As such, the 19-year-old Spaniard will join the Merengues<\/em> imminently in a deal worth \u20ac3 million, signing a four-year contract until 2030.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Given his talent and potential, Martinez had no shortage of suitors in the market this summer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Indeed, as reported by Romano, the youngster had been courting interest from clubs in England, Germany, and Saudi Arabia.
